Terms of service

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Flatpage when you use our website, dashboard and hosting. We've tried to keep them short and readable. By creating an account or publishing a site you agree to them.

1. What we provide

Flatpage lets you publish static content (HTML files, zipped static sites, PDFs and pasted HTML) and makes it available at a public link. We may add, change or remove features over time. If we remove something you pay for, we'll tell you in advance.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.
  • You sign in with an email link or Google. Keep access to that email account secure; anyone who controls it can control your sites.
  • One person per account. Don't create accounts to get around plan limits or an earlier suspension.
  • You're responsible for everything published from your account.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to what you upload. To run the service you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, scan, process and serve your content to visitors, only as needed to host it and keep the service safe. The licence ends when you delete the content, apart from copies kept for the limited time described in our privacy policy.

You promise that you have the right to publish your content and that it follows our acceptable use policy. Sites are public to anyone with the link unless you add a password on a paid plan. Don't publish anything you need to keep secret.

4. Free plan and badge

Sites on the free plan show a small “Made with Flatpage” badge, which also contains a link visitors can use to report the page. Don't hide or remove it. Free sites with login or payment forms may be held for review before they go live.

5. Paid plans

  • Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel any time from your dashboard. You keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial periods, but if something went wrong, contact us within 14 days of a charge.
  • If a payment fails, we'll retry and email you. If it still fails, your account moves to the free plan: the badge returns, passwords switch off and custom domains are detached.
  • We may change prices. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
  • Prices exclude taxes, which are added where the law requires.

6. Custom domains

If you connect your own domain, you must own it or have permission to use it. You're responsible for its DNS records and renewal. If the DNS stops pointing at us, the domain stops working; your free link keeps working.

7. Enforcement

We can hold, take down or delete content, and suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or the acceptable use policy, or that put visitors or the service at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you what happened and why. Accounts closed for serious abuse such as phishing or malware are not refunded.

8. Availability and limits

We work hard to keep sites online, but we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copy of everything you publish. Plan limits (number of sites, file sizes, uploads per day) are listed on the pricing page.

9. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer.

10. Closing your account

You can delete your sites and your account at any time. We may close an account with 30 days' notice for any reason, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms.

11. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Flatpage after that means you accept the new terms.
